Her name is pronounced M-a-r-l-e-e-n-a. I was tentatively trying to spell it and she quickly clarified, “Just like Marlene Dietrich!” I had been waiting for quite a while for a stranger opportunity when Marlene and Tim came upon my little staging area in Mingus Park, Coos Bay, Oregon. They both immediately agreed to participate and were so positive and patient. I was loving how the sun was filtering through a small stand of bamboo and positioned Marlene in front of it with her back to the sun. Tim was holding the reflector with the white side towards her. This really created some beautiful lighting. I love the way she crinkles her nose when she smiles! When we were interrupted by some people coming down the path, Marlene explained to them that I was doing an art project called Strangers in the Park, which I thought sounded really good! 🙂 She is originally from Washington but is in Coos Bay for work reasons.
Thanks so much, Marlene, for taking part! Please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org so I can email you some pictures. I enjoyed meeting you both!
