Road trip to San Francisco

In late February there was a string of sunny days forecast for the West Coast and I took full advantage of this in the form of a spontaneous road trip to San Francisco – with Blanca, of course!  Over the course of 5 days I drove 1020 miles (1641 km) and took 838 photos.  The weather was splendid and after a rather gloomy winter this year it did me a world of good to immerse myself in new impressions and take a lot of pictures.  Northern California is incredibly HUGE and truly beautiful!

I’ve distilled my photographic record down to 120 images.  Since that is still a large number, I am trying something new with this gazette and am presenting the photos as a self-guided slideshow to peruse at your own speed and leisure, with short captions and no music.  (If you’re like me, you’re listening to your own music already.)

You can view in full screen (arrow symbol in bottom right) and more options become available:  You can turn captions on or off (“i” button) and control whether filmstrip thumbnails are displayed and/or captions (arrow in bottom center).  You may also notice a shopping cart symbol as I am now phasing in the ability to directly sell prints through my website.  Clicking on it will show a price list.

So grab a cup of coffee and enjoy!

I just hate it when I see a “no dogs allowed” sign!

Yeah, it does suck, but sometimes it is appropriate. In the summertime, tons of people visit the National Parks and it would be an additional burden on the land if everyone brought their dogs.
